We are happy to announce that the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII) has been accepted as a Partner in A2R.
The Secretary General’s Climate Resilience Initiative: Anticipate, Absorb, Reshape (A2R) is a global, UN-led, multi-stakeholder initiative that strengthens climate resilience for vulnerable countries and people. Launched in November 2015 during the 21st Conference of Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris, this initiative brings together governments, international agencies, regional initiatives, the private sector, civil society and academia. A2R addresses the urgent needs of Least Developing Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Africa and other vulnerable regions (bit.ly/2wLAH9v).
MCII is happy to make results of its projects available to A2R and its partners (in the form of publications, webinars, or other formats) to support the sharing of good practice solutions, aiming at increasing the resilience of poor and vulnerable people in the face of climate change impacts. We will contribute to endorsing A2R objectives by supporting A2R in the context of larger frameworks (e.g. the UNFCCC climate change process). Experts from the MCII network and the project office at UNU-EHS Bonn are looking forward to collaborating with A2R partners on addressing specific questions and responding with their respective expertise to support the Initiative in tackling some of the key challenges on which they are focusing.
